be2 S.à.r.l. endeavours to make its e-commerce services, in particular the online dating platform under the name Singles50, accessible within the meaning of the underlying Directive (EU) 2019/882.
All of our websites and apps are designed to be fully operable via keyboard, without requiring a mouse. This applies to all interactive elements across all pages, including navigation menus, lists, user profiles, settings, image uploads, payment pages, cancellation and contact forms. Keyboard navigation also supports external and built-in keyboards, speech-to-text tools with keyboard emulation, and handwriting input on mobile devices.
To implement this, we use semantic HTML elements like <button>, <a>, <input>, and <form> wherever possible. These are inherently focusable and work well with assistive technologies. Where non-semantic elements like <div> or <span> are used for interactivity, appropriate tabindex and ARIA roles are added to maintain accessibility.
All forms are correctly labeled using <label> tags or aria-labelledby, ensuring screen readers can interpret them properly. Focus is managed in a predictable and linear order, typically from top to bottom and left to right. Focused elements are visibly highlighted with borders or outlines. Modal dialogs automatically move focus to the first interactive item and return focus to the triggering element when closed.
Non-interactive content like static text, decorative icons, or background images is excluded from the tab order. We ensure that assistive technologies can still interpret these elements through semantic HTML structure and meaningful labels. We also provide a "Skip to Content" link at the top of each page, enabling users to bypass repeated content and directly access the main section.
All functional icons, such as profile pictures, gallery images, placeholder photos, and payment method icons, are provided with descriptive alt text. Decorative or purely visual images are either hidden from assistive technologies or marked appropriately to prevent distraction or confusion.
All pages contain meaningful and descriptive <title> tags, which help users and screen readers understand the purpose of the page at a glance.
In addition, users can customize the interface via an accessibility menu. This allows switching to a high-contrast mode or activating a special “Zoom Mode.” While most pages are compatible with browser zoom up to 400%, “Zoom Mode” ensures this level of scaling also works on pages where native zoom support is limited. The accessibility menu is available in the “Accessibility” section under settings.
We test our services using popular screen readers like NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver. While we strive for broad compatibility, not all assistive technologies behave identically across all platforms and devices. We are continuously working to improve accessibility and welcome feedback.
